The Friendship That Didn’t Work Out

It all started out one summer night when I had nothing to do.
I went on a walk and ran into you. I went one way, you went the other.
I didn’t bother to say sorry, but you said “hello.”
I was about to run, my hair was undone, my shoes weren’t tied and my finger muscles died.
The fear began to grow into a vine.
I said “hi”, you said “bye”. I felt like I could cry, “goodbye” I said.

The grass dried out, they sky turned pitch blue,
everything was different besides for you.
The sun was setting and I was betting, that to tomorrow would be a new day.
The world is a lonely place that everyone has to face.
At first the world was clear, until it turned into a nightmare.
Life is life, you are you.

The evil world is turning black and I’m in the middle.
I shut my eyes and opened them and everything changed,
the grass turned green and the sky faded blue,
but then I realized I was standing right next to you,
with my hair undone and my shoes weren’t tied and my finger muscles died.
Everything is perfect to me.
